Thank you notes from parents
Dear Lisa, I just wanted to thank you and your colleagues for the time and effort you put into the Humber Jazz evening and the ensemble. The students were very professional and the music was outstanding! As a parent, I enjoy watching my son’s growth as a musician and I was very glad to have the opportunity to experience the performance. Again, thank you for your leadership with these developing young people! I know, even in high school, the opportunity to be involved in creating and adapting music for performance is an important part of the process. It was great to hear original compositions by musicians in both preforming groups. I always enjoy when musicians are allowed to express themselves in their solos, creating their own take on the music.
Dear Lisa, I teach music and am a vocalist myself. I can't thank you enough for your kind, considerate and understanding e-mail to my daughter. Having done a minor in voice, I know the anxiety experienced by a vocalist when it comes to nodules. It can (if not treated properly) be a career ending condition and she is just barely beginning. I cannot say how deeply I appreciate the advice and the contacts that you have given her. She is a very special talent and going to Humber has been a high point in her life so far. I can't say how much I hope and wish that she get through this in a healthy way that allows her to achieve her potential. You, with your attention to her plight, not to mention the empathy that you expressed, have given us all great hope.
